Biographical hints:

ChiaraSole Ciavatta @chiarasolems, Founder of MondoSole, has been sick with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, depression and other forms of dependence for over 14 years.
Her experience led her to remain active in social fields, to make her experience available to those who suffer, having known firsthand both strengths and weaknesses of many care methods.
After her recovery she started as a volunteer worker, and through the website chiarasole.it (now her official website is www.chiarasole.com/), she welcomes requests for help from all over Italy. In 2002 she trained as a social worker. In 2003 her autobiographical book was published, written together with David De Filipp: ChiaraSole: Anorexia and Bulimia: an experience of life and death. As a volunteer she welcomes many people affected by eating disorders and their families. She founded together with Dr. Matteo Mugnani the MondoSole Center and manages it with the collaboration of a clinical staff https://www.chiarasole.com/associazione-centro-mondosole/ for the treatment of anorexia-bulimia-binge eating. MondoSole carries out a care, rehabilitation and social reintegration service for people with eating disorders, the center offers a day-to-day job in collaboration with the families.

ChiaraSole is always present at the Center to offer concrete and constant support. ChiaraSole has been a lecturer in post-graduate specialization courses on eating disorders, addressed to doctors, psychologists and health professionals.

In 2008 ChiaraSole Ciavatta received the Milanodonna 2008 award for the social communication category. Chiara is very active in fighting pro-Ana, pro-Mia groups, body-shaming sites, blogs and any other harmful phenomenon for those who suffer.

ChiaraSole is very active on social media, on many platforms, active since 2001 everywhere for those who know the labyrinth of these tragic pathologies: to continue to be there for those who suffer and feel invisible as she herself felt many years ago!

On February 2, 2018, Chiara’s husband, Matteo Mugnani, passed away after three long and exhausting years of a rare form of blood cancer.
